While all eyes were on Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, co-trainer of Pride Of Dubai Peter Snowden reminded punters not to forget his Blue Diamond Stakes winner ahead of the Inglis Sires.
And when Gai Waterhouse’s two-year-old was spelled, racing fans had another crack colt to admire as Pride Of Dubai showed tremendous fight to hold off Odyssey Moon in the $1m event.
The Street Cry colt, ridden by Hugh Bowman, sat three-wide as the field rounded the home turn and sprinted clear before looking defeated when headed by Rageese.
But the tough colt fought back to win and stamp his authority as one of the leading juveniles in the country.
