Joao ‘Magic’ Moreira is a Champion jockey from Rio De Jeinaro, Brazil who has been hailed the best jockey in the world, with the striking ability to always move on a horse without losing rhythm. Riding winners in almost 20 countries, Moreira has carved out a riding career in Asia, France, Germany and Australia – just to name a few! His achievements on the track include the 2012 LONGINES International Jockeys' Championship and competed at the 2013 Shergar Cup. He rode 8 winners from 8 rides at the Kranji race meeting on 6 September, 2013. Moreira moved to Hong Kong in October, 2013 and ranked second in that season's premiership with 97 wins for a 20% strike rate. Other major wins include Able Friend (2014 HK Classic Mile), Military Attack (2014 HK Gold Cup), Amber Sky (2014 Al Quoz Sprint) and Sterling City (2014 Dubai Golden Shaheen).
