About

Originally from Queanbeyan, Joe Pride was not born into the industry but obviously learnt plenty as foreman for master trainer John Size, now one of the leading lights in Hong Kong racing.

He said in 2005:  “A lot of John’s techniques are used at our stables.  We swim the horses twice a day like John did and the formula seems to be working.”

Pride burst to prominence as trainer of multiple Group One-winning sprinter Red Oog and has been among the top 10 trainers in Sydney since. He has a natural affinity with sprinters and his current two stable stars, Terravista and Tiger Tees, are half-brothers who each won their maiden Group One win in 2014 over sprint distances. Terravista notably featured highly in the World Throughbred Rankings for his sprinting achievements.
