Cast your mind back to March 2016 where Black Heart Bart stepped out for the first time under the care of Darren Weir. He ran second in the Newmarket Handicap, which was the start of a nine run sequence which saw him never finish outside of the top two. That included three Group One wins. The run ended in the Cox Plate, finishing ninth.
Like Hartnell, Black Heart Bart will be up against it turning the tables on Winx but he’s a top quality performer and can never be underestimated.
