Arrowfield Sprint - The 3YO Sprint Championship

The Arrowfield Sprint, originally called the Royal Sovereign Stakes, was first run in 1979 and has been traditionally held earlier in the year as a lead up to the Sydney Autumn Carnival. The race has been claimed by a number of top line gallopers including Lonhro (2002), Exceed And Excel (2005), and Shoot Out (2010). The shift of this race to the carnival proper to become the 3YO Sprint Championship has seen it grow into one of the leading three-year-old events on the racing calendar.
